Wicor and Stubbington skate parks to be replaced
Fareham Borough Council has appointed Bendcrete Leisure Ltd to replace the skate parks at Wicor in Portchester and Stubbington.
Fareham Borough Council announced on 18 September 2026 that it will replace skate parks in two locations, with works starting as early as the following week.
The council said skate park specialist Bendcrete Leisure Ltd has been appointed. The new parks will use more durable materials because the existing metal facilities have deteriorated over time.
Wicor Skate Park, Portchester
The council said the Wicor replacement is due to start first. The new park has a street-influenced design organised around a central spine linking a transition zone, anchored by a halfpipe, and a street section. Features listed include a mini ramp, extended quarter pipe, roll over, flat banks, a raised platform, a grind rail and a hubba ledge.
Stubbington Skate Park
Work at Stubbington will begin later this year. The council said that design is more organic and uses changes in ground level to build flow, with two quarter pipes of different heights, a flat bank, rollover, volcano, hipped pyramid and a bowled zone.
Design and access
Both designs were finalised following public consultations, which the council said drew thousands of comments. It said both parks will suit all abilities, from beginners to experienced skaters, scooter riders and BMX riders, and will be accessible for wheelchair users. Surrounding areas will be tidied, with shelters and line markings repainted and new signage installed.
Cllr Frair Burgess, Executive Member for Leisure and Community, said she was happy the works would start soon. The full details are on the Fareham Borough Council website.
