Festive family wild play at Swanwick Lakes on 13 December

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust has listed a festive family event at Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve for Sunday 13 December 2026.

The Trust's event page says the session runs from 10am to 12 noon, with the meeting point at the Swanwick Lakes Study Centre. It describes festive themed wild play, nature activities and crafts for children and their families, and says it is suitable for accompanied children of all ages.

Where the activities take place

Depending on the weather, activities will either be outdoors in the woodland area or indoors in the classroom. The Trust asks people to wear warm and waterproof clothing as required, long trousers, long sleeves and sturdy boots or wellies.

Cost and booking

There is a suggested donation of £5 per child, and you only need to book places for the children in your party. Online booking is essential and closes at 1pm on Thursday 10 December. Free parking is available at the Study Centre car park. The page lists wheelchair access and accessible toilets and baby changing facilities, and says only assistance dogs are allowed.

The Trust gives a contact number of 01489 570240 and an email address, SwanwickLakes@hiwwt.org.uk, for questions about the event.

The listing appears in the Trust's wider events programme, which also shows other winter sessions at its reserves across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
