Free Halloween half-term activities at Fort Nelson, 24 Oct to 1 Nov
Royal Armouries is running a free 'Halloween Fun at the Fort' programme at Fort Nelson every day from 24 October to 1 November 2026.
Royal Armouries has announced Halloween activities at Fort Nelson on Portsdown Hill for the October half term, running daily from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026.
The Royal Armouries event page says the activities run from 10am to 4pm and are free. Visitors are asked to pre-book tickets to guarantee a visit, as the organisers say the event "does sell out".
What is on offer
A free "Creepy Codebreaker" museum trail, suitable for ages 6 to 10 with help for younger children, asks families to work out what mystery creature the fort's caretaker, Mr Grimm, has reported creeping about the museum. Trail sheets are picked up at the Visitor Centre.
Drop-in Halloween activities are available every day and are listed as suitable for ages 3 and over, with adult supervision required. They include the Ghoulish Game Zone, the Creepy Creation Station, the Boo-tique costume corner, the Haunted Hideout den-building area, the Witch's Workshop and a Pumpkin Patch Party. Royal Armouries says it reserves the right to alter the programme without notice.
Booking and parking
Tickets are booked online by arrival slot, from 10am to 11am through to 3pm to 4pm. Parking costs £3 per vehicle, payable at reception on arrival. The charity suggests a donation of £2.50 when booking, which can be changed or removed. The fort's main page lists it as open daily from 24 October to 1 November, 10am to 5pm.
