Fareham parks win six golds at South and South East in Bloom
Fareham Borough Council's parks and open spaces have won six gold awards and a silver gilt in the 2026 South and South East in Bloom awards.
Fareham Borough Council announced on 2 October 2026 that the Borough's parks and open spaces have again received multiple awards in this year's South and South East in Bloom campaign, described by the council as the largest horticultural campaign in the region.
The awards ceremony was held on Friday 25 September at RHS Gardens Wisley. The council said it received the following awards.
Gold and silver gilt winners
Gold awards went to Abbey Meadows, Warsash Common, Coldeast Conservation Area, Portchester Common, Civic Gardens and the Sensory Garden. Holly Hill was awarded Silver Gilt.
The winning sites include Warsash Common and Portchester Common, as well as the Civic Gardens and Sensory Garden.
What the council said
Cllr Ian Bastable, Executive Member for Streetscene at Fareham Borough Council, said the awards were "a wonderful recognition of the outstanding parks and open spaces we are fortunate to have across Fareham". He credited the volunteers, community groups and the council's grounds maintenance teams for the result.
The council's announcement does not give scores or judging criteria, and does not say how many entries took part overall beyond describing the campaign as involving hundreds of communities each year.
