First Bus announces temporary stop closures in Fareham area

First Bus has published service notices for temporary bus stop closures in the Fareham area caused by road works. The notices are dated 28 September and 5 October 2026 and say the works are the responsibility of the local authority.

Portchester Road

Services 3, X3, X4 and X5 are affected by a closure of the stop on Beaulieu Avenue, Portchester Road. First Bus says it runs from 9am on Monday 28 September until 5pm on Friday 9 October 2026. Only the stop towards Portsmouth is affected. Passengers are advised to use the temporary stop provided by the works contractors.

North Hill, Wickham Road

Service SD4 is affected by a closure of the stop at North Hill, Wickham Road, Fareham, from 9am on Monday 28 September 2026 until 4pm on Friday 19 February 2027. Stops in both directions are affected, and passengers are again advised to use the contractors' temporary stop.

Home Rule Road, Locks Heath

Service X4 is affected by a closure at Home Rule Road, Locks Road, Locks Heath, with stops in both directions closed. The notice gives mixed dates. The main text says 9am on Monday 5 October until 4pm on Friday 16 October, while the effective-dates line at the top reads 5 to 9 October 2026. Check the notice before you travel.

First Bus asks passengers to signal clearly to the driver, and says the works are outside its control and may change at short notice.

Overnight diversions on services X3, X4 and X5 around the J&J Junction on Southampton Road on 5 and 7 October are also listed, between 9pm and 5am.
